My Andrew Wyeth Inspired Oil Painting

Andrew Wyeth is a famous American artist of the 20th century. One of his most famous paintings is called Christina's World. Mr. Wyeth had a summer home in Cushing, Maine. When in town, he often visited the Olson family and sketched and painted many of the family members and their property. Christina Olsen suffered from polio. While visiting the historical home from the 1700's during my recent paint trip to Maine, I captured this scene (Christina's Window, 14 x 11) of the chairs Christina would sit at as she viewed the world through the kitchen window.

  2. Thanks Randy. The subject matter is a bit different for me, but I was truly inspired by the setting.

  3. One of my favorite things, although I don't paint it often is that gorgeous light coming through the window and into an intimate scene. Your inspiration shows.
