I'm a full-time oil painter living in the North Bay. Can be painting vineyards in Napa within 30 minutes of leaving my home or paint within walking distance of where I live on Mare Island. Impressionist Plein Air painting is my passion.
Antique French Water Pitcher and Sunflowers, 20 x 16 Oil
Painted from life emphasizing classical Impressionist techniques. With Lost
Edges, certain edges are not distinct and blur into background. The use of lost edges allows the painter to consciously direct the viewer's attention.
Example of Lost Edges blurring the top of the water pitcher into the background
This painting also uses Broken
Color. This technique creates color harmony by interweaving complimentary colors
throughout the entire painting.
Recently, I was contacted by SouthwestArt magazine for a Where Art They Now Portfolio for their October 2013 issue. I was originally highlighted as an Emerging Artist in their August 2006 issue. International Artist
magazine also contacted me about an instructional article. I’m not
positive on which issue it will appear, but am honored to be included in
one of their upcoming issues. For those interested, below is a list of
previous articles in which I have been featured.
