Lost Edges

Antique French Water Pitcher and Sunflowers, 20 x 16 Oil
Painted from life emphasizing classical Impressionist techniques. With Lost Edges, certain edges are not distinct and blur into background. The use of lost edges allows the painter to consciously direct the viewer's attention.
Example of Lost Edges blurring the top of the water pitcher into the background

This painting also uses Broken Color. This technique creates color harmony by interweaving complimentary colors throughout the entire painting.
