When Kristine Pallas, one of my paint partners, wanted to paint the Chicken Coop at Connolly Ranch in Napa, California, I had my doubts. Maybe it was the morning light, or the fact I took great care setting proper values. The great company was also a plus. I ended up with this adorable 8 x 10 plein air oil painting. I love how a few brush strokes give you the essence of the chickens without needing a lot of detail.
