I'm a full-time oil painter living in the North Bay. Can be painting vineyards in Napa within 30 minutes of leaving my home or paint within walking distance of where I live on Mare Island. Impressionist Plein Air painting is my passion.
When Kristine Pallas, one of my paint partners, wanted to paint the Chicken Coop at Connolly Ranch in Napa, California, I had my doubts. Maybe it was the morning light, or the fact I took great care setting proper values. The great company was also a plus. I ended up with this adorable 8 x 10 plein air oil painting. I love how a few brush strokes give you the essence of the chickens without needing a lot of detail.
